about

join us for deep care - a 3 session series focused on trauma-sensitive sexual and reproductive wellness for women and gender diverse people of colour. our intention is to de-stigmatize conversations and practices around sexual and reproductive health in the community, through education and connection.

deep session 02

our second deep session is a social-worker led conversation. join us as we practice shedding shame that isn’t yours and move towards finding peace in a self-defined journey around intimacy.

in this 90 minute session, you’ll be guided through a mixture of embodied practices, helping you step toward shamelessness.

please bring your questions! at this gathering, you can expect a therapeutic and guided, non-judgmental space accompanied by writing, creative practices, gentle movement, narrative therapy and honest conversations. there will be light snacks and teas provided.

meet your guides

ayssa scipio (she/her) is a registered social worker practicing psychotherapy in toronto, ontario. she holds a master of social work from the university of toronto’s factor-inwentash faculty of social work and a bachelor of arts in psychology from toronto metropolitan university (formerly ryerson university). she completed her training in sex therapy through guelph university.

beyond her clinical practice, ayssa co-chairs the sexual health community of practice for oncology with ontario health, where she works to bridge gaps in how healthcare systems address sexuality and intimacy throughout illness and recovery.

in her private practice, ayssa aims to create spaces where curiosity, pleasure, and emotional safety can coexist. her approach weaves together sex therapy, trauma-informed care, and intersectional frameworks to help clients. cultivate intimacy, release shame, and reconnect with their bodies and relationships.

ayssa often explores topics such as attachment, polyamory, kink, spirituality, and cultural narratives around sexuality and identity. she is passionate about sex education, mental health advocacy, and helping people feel more liberated in their relationships with others and themselves. outside of work, ayssa is happiest near the water. she’s an avid traveler and loves visiting small surf towns, soaking in new cultures, and recharging in nature.

nia o (she/her)is the founder and executive director of colour in mind. she is a registered nurse, 300hr meditation guide and sound artist. her passion is transforming her lived experience into cultivating spaces and practices that guide people back into their own wonder and wisdom. she has supported thousands both online and in person in meditation and sound, expressing her creativity through embodied guidance.

  • (optional) - comfort items for the session. ex. soft scent to smell (not invasive to others), comfort item, plushy toy or plushy robe, etc

we will supply props, blankets, cushions, seatbacks, yoga mats and refreshments!

the villij is at street level, but there are there are 8 interior steps once you enter the building. unfortunately there is no elevator access.

there is one gender neutral changeroom.
