about earth resonance series

earth resonance is a two-part multi-modal environmental series designed to cultivate mindfulness, creativity, and connection to nature within the city for women & gender diverse people of colour. as our relationship with the earth continues to change, we are offering an opportunity to tend to our collective inner earth, learn about our earth and reconnect with nature in community.

day 02 with fatemeh j & nia o

in this nourishing session, you are invited to practice 45 mins of slow flow yoga and join us in a nature sound bath. we will blend meditation, nature sounds, instruments promoting mental and emotional care in community. come and make new friends as well!

meet your guides

fatemeh j (she/her) @_fatemeh_8j is a an experienced yoga guide trained in trauma informed practice. growing up in iran, she found her love the practice on her journey to canada. she is a proud afghan woman, marathoner and visual artist.

nia o (she/her) @restorewithnia is a meditation and sound artist. as the founder of colour in mind, her intention is to bridge mindfulness with culturally relevant spaces for women and gender people of colour to bring remedy and collective healing.

you’ll need

  • comfortable clothes to do light movement (slow flow yoga)

  • you will need to bring a yoga mat!!

  • sunscreen, hat, sunglasses to keep cool

we will provide

  • snacks, water and other non-alc drinks

  • asbridges bay park is a public space. there are washrooms towards woodbine beach, a 3 to 6 minute walk

  • to access the picnic site, there is a paved road that connects to the grass where the picnic site is held. there may be an elevation from the road to the picnic site.

  • in our discussions, we prioritize creating an inclusive and trauma-sensitive environment. we recognize that participants have diverse experiences and backgrounds, and it is essential to ensure that everyone feels safe and respected. we will use inclusive language.
